The companies can delete even your purchased games, revoke your licences. Even the single player games require internet connection and mandatory updates. They’re dependent on the servers, online store, companies, DRM, … You don’t own the digital / download games. With an iPhone, you can’t even downolad any file from the internet. apk and data files, then burn them to M-DISC DVD (perfect backup solution) after I tried them out on my phone). When I purchase a phone, the primary decision factor is that can this be used independently, offline? So the removable battery (batteries have short lifespan), FM Radio (better than online stream), IR blaster, offline backup option, option to disable forced and automatic updates, … are the most important factors of a phone. In other words: today’s IT, tech world, the trend. That’s one of the reasons why I hate Apple, Steam, today’s digital download games, Games as a Service, Software as a Service, Windows 10, phones with Google Sync backup only (phones that don’t have an option to back up app data locally, offline), etc. I always hated to be dependent, relied on other people, cloud, third party servers, services, corporations. This is a perfect example of that I’m right.
